Reflection on Law And Community.

He couldn't get a drivers license so he bought a John Deere Gator. He was never able to live on his own and spent his life faithfully working on the family farm. Now he was the sole caretaker of his mother who was advanced in years and could no longer drive.  

You would see them on the shoulder on the short drive from the farm to the grocery store to pick up food. 

Eventually the locals took notice and reported him to law enforcement who had no choice but to enforce the law. 

A few miles away golf carts routinely drove to the local country club for a round of golf without fear of the local gatekeepers. 

You need laws to bind a community together but you need grace to make the community worth being a part of. 

 He has told you, O man, what is good; 

and what does the Lord require of you 

but to do justice, and to love kindness, 

and to walk humbly with your God?
