Do You Know Who You're Talking To?

I had a friend growing up who had his own water park. Well — his dad owned it, and it was named after him.

One day his dad invited me to spend the day at the park. While we were there, my friend hopped up and sat on a railing. A young woman who worked at the park walked by and said, "Hey, get off the railing."

She had no idea who she was talking to. This was the boy the park was named after. The owner was standing close enough to hear the whole thing, and he just laughed it off.

But I remember thinking: Do you know who you're talking to? 

Every one of us was created by God. You were created by God. It doesn't matter where you are in life, how you see yourself right now, or how far you've wandered from the straight and narrow — you are his. You may not feel that about yourself. You may not feel that way about the person standing in front of you either.

When you speak to yourself, when you speak to others, do you know who you are talking to?
